dreaming of nightmares

Tim Burton captured the hearts of New Yorkers when his exhibition first appeared at the Museum of Modern Art late last year. Luckily for us, it's made its way down to Melbourne.

We waited in line at the cinemas to see his latest on-screen masterpiece, Alice in Wonderland. Now we're waiting with bated breath to view his extraordinary exhibition at ACMI at Federation Square. Burton’s inspiration takes a step further from childlike drawings. His ability to create a new genre of film from popular culture is truly genius.

The exhibition holds 700 of his works from paintings to puppets. You simply shouldn't miss...

ACMI, Federation Square, 24 June to 10 October 2010.
